Preliminary Working Draft

PBHL-H401, Strategic Planning in Health Organizations

This artifact is a strategic plan I created for a healthcare organization in my Strategic Planning class. It includes different parts such as an environmental scan, service area analysis, and a SWOT analysis to better understand the organization and its challenges. This project shows how strategic planning is used to improve healthcare organizations and guide decision-making.

What I learned

I chose this assignment because it was one of the more in-depth projects I worked on and really showed how everything connects when it comes to running a healthcare organization. It took a lot of time to put together, especially when looking at things like the environmental scan, population data, and the SWOT analysis. Working on this helped me better understand how outside factors like regulations, finances, and staffing can affect how an organization operates. It also showed me how important it is to look at data when making decisions, instead of just guessing what might work. Some parts were challenging, especially trying to connect all the sections and make everything flow together, but it helped me improve how I organize information and think through problems. Overall, this assignment gave me a better understanding of how planning works in real healthcare settings and how important it is for improving outcomes.
